My misunderstaing of the Philippine and a hope

Story:

I always think of when I can empower totally to my disciples. It’s very old question to missionaries. Many Korean missionaries live in Baguio City. Before I came here, I heard many rumors. They always talk to me negatively. I thought so that almost Filipinos are very lazy and don’t have any passion to fulfill God’s Great Commandments. If they were working in depth understanding of the Philippines, they would not talk so. I came here 6^th day of March, 2011. I was tired to listen to Korean people so I decided to listen to Filipino directly. And I could realize what’s going on in the Philippine.

Yes, here is much confusion of Christianity because here’s Roman Catholic Country. So I persuade them to know what the true is and the truth is. But I also experienced the same situations in South Korea because he has very strong religion, Buddhism. Anyway, it’s not a country’s problem but a religion problem. Even in S. Korea, many churches are doing wrongly without biblical thought.  For example, many churches hold an event praying for 1,000 days to get blessing they want from God. It’s a kind of pagans’ event. How can we say that we’re better than the Philippines?

Yes, it’s too difficult to make a member for our own. But it’s a funny answer. If you worked in S. Korea as a pastor, you could know what’s going on in S. Korea. Especially new generations don’t want to work with any missionaries. When I was a freshman in a university, our members are more than 70 but now there are only less than 20 because most of students are focus on getting a job. So, it’s not a problem in the Philippine only. And Filipinos have to work to sustain their family as well. Philippines is a very family oriented society. S. Korea is an individualistic society that’s why we couldn’t understand them who are always saying that they are busy to do something for families.

Korean missionaries are guests even they have lived here more than 10 years. And they are a student studying Philippine culture to understand them. I confirmed that Filipinos are very smart and have big passion to fulfill God’s will in their country. I know some missionaries can say that they need more time to empower their authorities Jesus gave them. (Matthew 28:18) But don’t excuse by the Philippine problems. It’s not fair. I can imagine that my disciples know more and do better than me in few years. God! Let us be good helpers, I meant a missionaries who trust them and empower well. I’ll not hold anything because I trust you. Look at my opened hands and get all from me, my lovely disciples. Oh, sorry. My hands are empty. Haha. Please, God! Hehe.
